It's green, it's thick, it's super delicious, and most importantly- it's great for you! Here's the recipe to our favorite anytime smoothie (in a bowl, eaten with a spoon, with lots of toppings...)

What you'll need:

  • 1 food processor or fancy blender
  • 1 scoop (1 serving) of Protein powder (your favorite- I love Vega Sport vanilla in this smoothie)
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 1/2 banana (frozen if possible)
  • ~3/4- 1 cup almond milk (if you like it less thick, add more)
  • 1 tbs chia seeds
  • 1 tbs hemp seeds
  • 2 tbs cocoa nibs
  • 1 spoonful of raw almond butter
  • 1/4 cup oats (optional) for topping
  • 3-5 cubes of ice if your banana isn't frozen

How to make it:

Place your almond milk, spinach, banana, cocoa nibs and ice (if you're using it) into the blender. Blend until the spinach is all smooth and there are no chunks. Then, STIR IN protein powder followed by a good mix with the blender. Note: if you simply place the protein powder on top of your smoothie and then hit "BLEND", your protein powder will just go everywhere, including the top of your blender. Once it's all blended, pour into a bowl. If you have to scoop it out with a spoon- great job! That means that your smoothie is nice and thik. If you want to drink it without a spoon, make sure you add more almond milk before removing it from the blender. Top your smoothie bowl with the remaining ingredients and viola! You're all done. The worst part: cleaning up your blender. The best part: you're eating a super healthy, tasty, and nutritious smoothie that'll keep you full for hours. Enjoy!
